College classes have started up, and the Emory campus is buzzing with activity again. Exciting things are happening, and the Class of 2017, all 1,900 freshman, are finding their way around campus and are getting acquainted with their classmates. A special annual event at Emory, Family Weekend, occurs this year on October 25th through 27th, and the students and faculty are excited to show off this beautiful college and its grounds to their parents and siblings.
Families are welcomed during this weekend to reconnect with Emory students and share special activities. A welcome by Emory University’s president, a legacy brunch and pinning ceremony for alumni of the school, a family panel, and a cello concerto are just a few of the events planned for this wonderful weekend. This time is also excellent for students to give their parents a tour of the campus, show them where they attend classes, and help to give mom and dad some peace of mind about being away from home by introducing them to Emory’s secure, well-protected buildings and grounds.
The perfect place for student’s families to stay while attending Family Weekend is The University Inn at Emory, located directly across from the Emory campus. The University Inn is family-owned and operated and prides itself on guest satisfaction. Personal, individualized service is a hallmark of the Inn, which has a much cozier, homier feel than a larger sterile chain hotel. We offer many amenities such as continental breakfast in the lobby, daily fresh-baked cookies, free Wi-Fi, and we also allow pets. This is the perfect opportunity to bring your pet along to visit your student during Family Weekend to ease the separation your student may feel from their beloved pet.
The University Inn at Emory has free parking and spacious accommodations, which often include a microwave, refrigerator, and even a full kitchen. And for the health-conscious family member who doesn’t want to a miss a workout, guests have complimentary access to Emory University’s state-of-the-art fitness center. There are nearby walking trails, and lots of shops and restaurants close by as well.
If you will be coming to visit your son or daughter, grandchild, or sibling during Emory University’s Family Weekend, be sure to call us at The University Inn at Emory to book your room. We will welcome you like family, and you’ll feel right at home!
